I like creating compositions out of ceramic pieces. Compositions have meanings.
The Wollemi Pine Inspired Series and the Waterlilies Inspired Series each has two compositions. The meanings of my work come from the sun and its light, the floral and
its water, the surviving pine and its simple DNA; all of which tell me of a creator.
Materials used are porcelaneous stoneware and porcelain
paper clay, functional glazes,
colour stains and fritted glaze.
Combinations of hand forming and wheel throwing techniques are used to achieve the
forms.
Oxidation firing to cone 7 (1240 oC). |
